doggedness they had,the zeal they have also
got,they had that determination that one needed to
attain that desired and envisaged future.but fate
had its own way of taking full course it had its
own way of either stopping it abruptly or putting it
to a stand still.
Mama Uju,was arguably one of the best
student,during her time as a student,she was a
genius in almost all the subjects,which made so
many teachers to like her,which also made so
many others to envy her..most of her teacher had
recommended that she study medicine and
surgery after her senior school leaving cert
exam,but she had insisted on studying
microbiology
Anita,don't you think you are too big for
microbiology,considering your level of
intelligence,because most intelligent people go for
medicine ,and moreover,microbiology isn't
lucrative you might end up as a biology teacher
after graduation,compared to medicine that has
vast job opportunities...and also you know
medicine attracts much and huge respect from the
society...mama uju's biology teacher Mr. Cletus
had advised her back then
sir, i do know medicine is very lucrative,and it
attracts much respect from the society but I don't
like it..I think I have this dying passion for
microbes,how there function,behave and interact
with their environment,how there affect man,I
want to know more about how penicillin is used to
kill bacteria,and so so many other things mama
uju(anita) had replied politely
But,nature had its own plan,who would have
thought and imagined that such talent wouldn't
harness its full potentials,nature wasn't
considerate,it was during their senior school
leaving cert exam that mama uju lost her parent
to a ghastly motor accident on their way back
from their hometown.
Was nature wicked???..why must it be her
parents,how was she going to become the
microbiologist she had imagined herself to be in
the near future,how was she going to
cope??...nature was indeed wicked
She had no other op......
