WAEC Commences Registration for private candidates(Second Series) 2018

THIS IS TO INFORM INTERESTED APPLICANTS THAT WAEC HAS COMMENCED  REGISTRATION FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATES(2ND SERIES)




The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Sunday, May 13, announced that it would soon conduct the second series of the West African Senior School certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.The exam body made this known in a press statement by the spokesperson of the council, Demianus Ojijeogu, According to the statement, registration starts May 14 and ends July 6, 2018, adding that the registration procedure has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the examination centre.

Candidates arc expected to pay a registration fee of Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira (N13,950) only, at branches of any of the following banks or any accredited agent and obtain the Registration PIN and Information VCD:

  • Access Bank Plc;

  • First Bank of Nig. Ltd;

  • Sterling Bank Plc

  • Zenith Bank Plc;

  • Diamond Bank Plc;

  • First City Monument Bank Plc;

  • Skye Bank Plc;

  • Union Bank of Nigeria Plc;

  • Ecobank Ltd;

  • Guaranty Trust Bank Plc;

  • Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc;

  • United Bank for Africa Plc;

  • Fidelity Bank Plc;

  • Heritage Bank Plc;

  • Standard Chartered Bank Plc;

  • Unity Bank Plc;

  • WEMA Bank Plc.


Candidates are expected to pay a commission of N500 to banks and accredited agents.

“After obtaining the registration pin, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org.

Walk –in candidates, who wish to write the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated provided they register less than 24 hours to the scheduled time of the paper they intend to write . "The walk-in candidates fee is 25,000 only. Candidates must conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website during registration period.” the statement said. The statement by the council also said the special needs’ candidates will also register online but “they must state clearly their disabilities: blind, low vision, spastic, speech etc.
